285.jpgDay 285 of 365 Days of Writing Prompts: Write one character from seven perspectives…today is his/her friend.

Erin: He’s one of those friends that you can always count on. He’ll drop everything at the drop of a hat if we need him. He’s literally the best.

Shannon:Jake is pretty crazy. He’s not afraid of anything, and that’s why he’s always fun to have around. There’s never a dull moment with him.

Why are they friends?

  1. Wendy sees Nikki sitting at the bleachers when she finishes her lunch. She walks over, passing the basketball rack. She tosses the ball at Nikki, “Think fast!”
Nikki ducks. The ball sails passed her, bouncing on the bleachers a little, then comes back. This time, Nikki catches it. “Careful! What if I wasn’t watching?”
    “Come play,” Wendy states.
“No, I’m busy,” Nikki says. She tosses the ball back. Wendy catches it with one hand.
    “Busy with what?”
“Just… busy,” Nikki looks back at her notebook, “I don’t want to play basketball. I’m not good at it.”
    “Pfft, so?”
Nikki doesn’t look up. Wendy then sighs.
“Okay. If you change your mind, you’re welcome to join.” Wendy walks away. She looks over her shoulder and finds exactly what she thought she’d see; Nikki is half bent over her notebook again, scribbling with a textbook next to her. ‘She’s always studying, or working on something. I just wanted her to relax a little, loosen up.’
    “Wendy! Are we playing?”
She turns to find a few of her teammates, “Yep. What are the teams this time?”
