Day 300 of 365 Days of Writing Prompts: Write a letter to your character.
Shannon:
Dear Character,
I know it seems like I’m screwing you over right now, but I promise I have a plan. You just can’t see it right now, but you will.
Erin:
Dear Character,
I’m sorry, but I don’t have time for you.
What would you say to your character?
Dear Nikki Dalton,
May I just say, it is an honor to talk to you, in some way. I’ve never done this before so… Heh, forgive me if I’m awkward.
I’ll be honest here, I never thought I’d create you. Or your friends for that matter. It was going to be Heather’s story, nothing more. But… it’s grown so much. I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’re group has brought so much life to the story, and I want to write the origin of the Novelty, fleshed out as it should be.
You are such a character, you know that? One of the smartest I’ve created. And yet, you’re so modest and humble. Not many smart characters are written that way. I wanted you to be different. True, I have a lot to discover about you, but we both know that my ‘power’ to create comes from God, just as yours does, even if you are fictional.
There is no way I’ll ever fully give up on your world. Maybe… I’ll take a pause. But it’s too big to just toss away. Your story will impact someone in my world, Nikki, I can feel it. You are making a difference, but only through God working through you.
I love you, my beautiful creation.
Sincerely,
Abigail Medin
