Erin: The king’s smile is about the first female heir of Kindor rebuilding a crumbling nation beyond anyone’s expectations. She will have to overcome hurdles in her quest to shine the king’s smile she is lucky enough to possess on the nation again.

Shannon: The king was rarely ever seen outside of the palace, or so we thought. He was hidden. It kept him safe from all the people who wanted the throne. As it turns out, he was living among us commoners. The one in the spotlight was a decoy. The real one was the best person I’d ever met.

Shannon: Trash, scum, loser I’ve heard them all, and that’s just from the teachers. I figured if everybody is so hung up on who they think I am, then why not roll with it? That’s why I formed the Slackers. A group where the misunderstood could join together. Not to live up to their expectations for our futures. No, we wanted to prove them wrong. As a team I was pretty sure we could.

Erin: Slackers is a is a story of three education majors landing a job straight out of college and teaching their high school students with no plans and no experience. The three amigos turn the school and the town on its head, with not much changing from the good old days.

Erin: Sometimes I imagine that I am a giant t-rex roaming the earth and just as we are about to become extinct I wake up. My life’s not as epic when I open my eyes. But I strive to make it be that way again.

Shannon: “I think I was royalty,” Max chimed in.

“Why, because you think you’re better then everyone?” I mocked his high hopes.

“No,” he smiled and shook his head. “I think I was a leader. People always think I have the answers, they gravitate towards me. I don’t know why. I don’t give them any reason to, but they trust me.”

I saw where he was coming from, but I couldn’t let him have this one with out a fight. “Yeah, but people also trust people who embarrass themselves and you’ve done plenty of that.”

Shannon: When I was taken by the rebels I feared what they would use my powers for. It was best people didn’t know what I could do, because I knew how easily I could get into the wrong hands. Especially, if they found a way to keep me from defending myself. They threaten the safety of my family if I didn’t cooperate.

The masked leader put pictures in front of me. He wouldn’t reveal his powers or his name, but everyone was scared of him. “Make them come here…you know voluntarily.” He had such a slimy laugh as he said it. There was no voluntary when I controlled peoples minds. I was in complete power of another life and it always seemed wrong to use them on anyone, even the worst people in the world. Unless I could stop them from hurting others.

Erin: Invisibility was just as much of a curse as it was a gift. Theoretically I could turn it off, only even if people could see me they didn’t.

Erin: He was cursed in his appearance. He was the tallest and most built person in town. Pair that with his constant stern look created a cloud of fear around him. Too bad no one knew what a harmless baby bird he was underneath it all.

Shannon: They can’t see me and I get frustrated. I know my fate, but I am here and it makes me angry. I don’t mean to hurt anyone, or traumatize them. Sometimes I just get carried away, because that’s the only thing that works. I’m stuck in this house, so is it so bad that I make my presence know once in a while? I want my own space too.

Shannon: “Don’t mind her, she’s an earth element,” my roommate directed her friends attention away from my “odd” behavior of tuning out their conversation. I had homework that I needed to get done and they weren’t my friends after all. It seemed like she never had work she needed to finish. She was a water element, and could always go with the flow. I envied her, but I knew I could never be like her. Not if I wanted to succeed.

Erin: She was like a winding stream in the group. Her path was determined by finding harmony in those around her and flowing into the responsibilities they needed from her. She brought harmony wherever she went. She could close the gap of vast differences. No other person could match her strengths.

Erin: He had a way about him. Because he reflected calmness everyone felt calmness in trusting him. The lack of worry translated to an abundance of confidence. Only he didn’t know anything and everyone was in trouble. His blue was about to wash over the world.

Shannon: “All green aura’s to the gymnasium immediately,” the school speakers went off in the middle of class.

Mr. Jones huffed, rolling his eyes. “Well you heard them,” he stood waiting as I got up with a few other kids in the class.

“What do they want now?” My friend questioned, catching up to me in the hallway.

“What do they always want? They need us to keep the peace, and it hasn’t been peaceful around here,” I stated the obvious.

“They already told us, and it hasn’t worked yet,” she scoffed.

“Well maybe they’ve got a plan now,” I tried to be optimistic, but I felt the same way as her.

“Yeah, that’ll be the day,” she shook her head.

Shannon: “You never quit, do you,” the new “fan” called from the other side of the fence.

I continued serving the last three balls I had on me, not letting him distract me. My racket hit the last one with a perfect amount of force. It felt good, “No I don’t,” I  finally responded. “Especially when I want to win,” I flashed him a smile before running to chase after the balls.

“Come on,” he whined, “You’re a professional athlete. Shouldn’t someone else be picking those up for you?”

I shook my head with a giggle. I used my racket to swipe a tennis ball from the ground  before turning to shrug at him. “Sorry, I guess the truth is kind of disappointing.”

His face lit up, “No I love it,” he shouted. “But…if you want free help in exchange for stories, I’m your man,” he placed a hand on his chest.

“Deal,” I ran over to unlock the door.

“Ah, so you are a bit of a diva,” he joked, knowing full well every member locked the court they played on.

“Shut up, do you want in or not?” I teased.

Erin: People don’t understand. They think I’m vane. I’m always working though and I am my best advertisement. If I can’t properly design a look for myself, how am I supposed to do it for someone else?

Erin: Tiger, a cool spirit animal, right? Except it’s so cliche. Sometimes I wish i could trade in my stripes, but i know who I am.

Shannon: “Why do you want my help?” I narrowed my eyes, unable to see how I fit into the equation.

“Your tattoo shows you have a butterfly spirit animal, and I’m looking for a transformation. I need someone who can help me with that. Someone open to consistent change, preferably some who craves it. You’re bored here, aren’t you? Come with me,” he tempted.

I smiled because what he said was true, but I needed more than that. “Show me your animal,” I demanded.

He lifted his shirt sleeve without hesitation to reveal a crow tattoo, and flashed his ice blue eyes up waiting for my reaction.

“I’ve never met crow,” I whispered, understanding why he kept it hidden.

“You may never again,” he smirked. He was very persuasive, but then again he could be using magic on me. It didn’t matter though, because I longed for what he could offer. I was sick of safe. I knew there had to be more out there, and I wanted to see it. “Yes or no?” He interrupted the wheels spinning in my head.

“Yes.”

Shannon: “He’s here,” I shouted to my friend over the loud music.

“You can’t know that,” she shook her head laughing, not putting up with my ridiculousness.

“No I’m serious I can feel him. He’s close,” I looked around trying pick him out of the huge crowd.

She joined me in looking, “I don’t see him, do you?”

I shook my head, and then started walking away.

“What are you doing?” she called after me.

“I’m finding him.”

Erin: The first time that I met her Ex I was intimidated to say the least. He was just about 10 times better looking than myself. The second he introduced himself though “G” spun in our direction like a top. It was almost as if she had a sixth sense to him. The terror in her eyes put an ease to my mood. He wasn’t competition. I know it’s bad, but I was a little relived by her reaction.
